1.Acceptance of these terms
These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Make The CV website, web app and mobile apps, and any related services (together, the “Service”), provided by Make The CV (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By accessing or using the Service — whether as a visitor browsing our website or as a registered user — you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2.Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to create an account. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.
3.Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it up to date.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
- You are responsible for the security of the device and email address associated with your account.
4.Licence to use the Service
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service to create, edit, save and export CVs for your personal, lawful use. You may download and use CVs you create for your own job-search and professional purposes.
5.Subscriptions, billing & payments
Plans and pricing
Some features are offered on a paid subscription. Current plan details and prices are shown on our pricing page. You can build and download a CV without hidden fees — our pricing is presented transparently before you pay.
Auto-renewal
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (for example, monthly) at the then-current price, until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorise us and our payment processor to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
Price changes & taxes
We may change subscription prices; we will give reasonable notice before a change affects you, and increases apply from your next billing period. Prices may be exclusive of applicable taxes (such as VAT), which will be added where required.
6.Cancellation & refunds
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. When you cancel, your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period, after which it will not renew.
Except where required by applicable law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods or unused features. Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights you may have that cannot be waived.
7.Your content
You own the content you create. The personal details and text you enter to build your CV (“Your Content”) remain yours. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, process and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you (for example, to save your CV, render previews, and generate exports).
You are responsible for Your Content, including its accuracy and legality, and you confirm you have the right to use any information you include. Do not include content that is unlawful, infringing, or that belongs to someone else without permission.
8.Acceptable use
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- Break any applicable law or infringe anyone’s rights;
- Upload false, misleading, defamatory, or fraudulent information (including misrepresenting your identity or qualifications);
- Attempt to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to access;
- Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Service, or introduce malware;
- Scrape, copy, resell or commercially exploit the Service or its templates without our permission;
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code, except as permitted by law.
9.Intellectual property
The Service — including our software, website, CV templates, designs, logos, and brand — is owned by Make The CV or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the licence to use the Service granted above, no rights are transferred to you. “Make The CV” and our logos are our trademarks and may not be used without permission.
10.AI features
The Service may offer optional AI-assisted writing features. AI-generated suggestions are provided to help you draft content and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. You are responsible for reviewing, editing and verifying any AI output before using it, and for ensuring your final CV is truthful and accurate. We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI suggestions.
11.Third-party services
The Service may link to or integrate with third-party websites and services (such as job boards, sign-in providers, or payment processors). We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
12.Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that using the Service will result in job interviews, offers, or employment. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements.
13.Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Make The CV and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill or opportunities, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (or, if you have not paid us, a nominal amount permitted by law). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
14.Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Make The CV and its team from any claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, or your breach of these Terms or applicable law.
15.Suspension & termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your licence to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
16.Changes to the Service & terms
We may modify or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
17.Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [the United Arab Emirates / your jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that the courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise. Where permitted, the parties will first attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting each other.
18.General
- Entire agreement — these Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Severability — if any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
- No waiver — our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
- Assignment — you may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
